Module One – Introduction to Unani Hijama
This first module introduces Hijama within the framework of Unani medicine and provides the theoretical foundation for the modules that follow.
Students are introduced to the history and development of Hijama, its place within traditional medical practice, and the way cupping is understood through Unani concepts such as Mizaj (temperament), humoral balance, and clinical suitability.

Learning approach
The aim of this module is not simply to memorise cupping points or techniques, but to understand how Hijama is approached within a wider Unani clinical framework.
