Nutrition Advisor Module Four: Fats
This module introduces fats, one of the principal macronutrients. You will study the structure and classification of fatty acids, their physiological functions, dietary sources, essential fatty acids, cholesterol and the importance of maintaining an appropriate balance of fats within the diet.

- the importance of balance between different types of dietary fats;
- the role of fats in the diet from a naturopathic and nutritional perspective.
Why this module matters
Fats are essential for energy storage, cell membrane structure, hormone production, nervous system function and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. Understanding the different types of dietary fats and their functions is important when assessing nutritional status and advising on a balanced diet.
